A mid 17th century stumpwork and lacquer mirror dated 1652, the rectangular mirror plate within a stumpwork surround, the arch decorated with a flowering tree and initials 'M.D' surrounded by angel, sun and buildings with small reflective details, animals to include, whale, frog, birds, fox, dog and others, the left side decorated with female figure standing holding a hawk, possibly Catherine of Braganza, the right side a male figure, probably Charles II, the apron decorated with an urn issuing flowers and foliage dated 1652 flanked by a lion, birds, insects and acorn tree, the black lacquer frame with gilded details, 61.5cm high x 52.5cm wide.
