Antiquities - An Ancient Egyptian stone funeral peg, of tapered cylindrical form, the top carved with an oval panel enclosing hieroglyphs, 20cm long.
Provenance: James Ewing Somerville (1843-1923) who had a second home in Menton, South of France, and would visit Ventimiglia in Northern Italy to attend "Roman Sales" in the period 1880-1900, he also visited Egypt and Palestine in 1866.
