Viewing is welcomed at our premises prior to each sale. Auction details, viewing dates, times and illustrated catalogues are available to view both on our website and on our live bidding platform www.the-saleroom.com/lindsayburns
If you are unable to attend a viewing and would like to receive additional information prior to a sale or to speak with one of our specialists, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We understand the requirement for flexibility and convenience and are therefore able to offer a variety of bidding options. We welcome in room bidding, telephone bidding, both live bidding and absentee bidding through the live bidding platform and absentee bidding through registering on our website or by leaving bids with the office.
To register as a private individual we will require your full contact details and when requested your ID. Photo identification (passport, driving licence) and a proof or address (utility bill, council tax bill, bank statement) will enable us to verify you. To register as a corporate client we will require a copy of the certificate of incorporation or equivalent documentation and proof of identification of directors and owners. If you are a partnership, trust or other legal structure please contact us to discuss the registration requirements.
Please complete a registration form and you will be issued with a paddle number.
We are happy to execute absentee bids on your behalf by either completing an absentee bidding form, available from the office or download one here and return it to the office or by registering through our website and leaving bids. Absentee bids can also be left through www.thesaleroom.com or by emailing mail@lindsayburns.co.uk.
Telephone bidding is a convenient way of bidding offering flexibility to those unable to attend a sale in person. Please contact the office with your details. We encourage clients to register as soon as possible as lines are offered on a first come first served basis.
A live bidding facility is offered for all our sales and registration is directly through www.the-saleroom.com . Please note there is an additional 4.95% charge to use this facility.
Invoices are sent by email and prompt payment is requested from all bidders. We encourage that all lots are collected within a week from the sale date.
Buyers premium is 22% plus VAT with an additional 4.95% plus VAT for the live bidding facility. Selected lots are subject to Artist Resale Right charges, and if applicable are noted.
All bank transfers must state your invoice number (found on your invoice). If transferring from a foreign currency, the total we receive must be in pounds sterling after a currency conversion and deduction of any bank charges. Our bank details are printed on our invoices and can be verified by contacting the office. We do not accept cash deposits into the account or third party payments.
We accept credit cards and debit cards on the premises. There is no charge to pay using cards.
Cheques are made payable to Lindsay Burns and Company. Please allow five working days for the cheque to clear before collecting the lots.
We accept cash payments up to £500
As an Art Market Participant, we are obliged to undertake measures to ensure that transactions are not part of money laundering. The threshold for these checks is 10,000 EUROS or the equivalent in British pounds. We are required to undertake the necessary identification checks prior to the conclusion of any transaction exceeding this threshold. Please refer to our Anti-Money Laundering Policy or contact the office for further information.
